Jo Stockdale

"Cuddles in Cream" by Jo Stockdale
Having worked with horses for several years, a back injury prevented Jo from continuing her career. She decided to take a job as housekeeper at one of North Yorkshire’s top stables, and being surrounded by horses again inspired her to begin sketching. Commissions followed from within the racing world.
Jo has now been painting full time for a number of years, totally self taught her passion comes from the connection between animal and handler. Whether in equestrian sports or with dogs and hounds, Jo endeavours to portray a sense of emotion and expression through all of her mediums. A loose style is her response to movement and flow, creating a moment in time.
Paintings have been sold internationally, one in permanent show at the Vestey Gallery in Newmarket.
