"Golden Sea" by Terry Logan

Born in Bingley, West Yorkshire in 1938.
Attended Art schools in Keighley and Bradford.
After National Service he became a Graphic Designer and Photographer.
He married Lynda in 1963 and in 1964 moved to Canada. There he worked in Advertising eventually becoming Art Director for one of the worlds largest agencies, J.WALTER THOMPSON, in their Vancouver office.

He returned to England in 1972, settling in Skipton. He started to paint the Yorkshire Dales in watercolour and the response to his work both from the public and the press was very encouraging, prompting him to diversify into Limited Edition Prints to satisfy demand for his work. As his style matured, Terry began to diversify in his subject matter and the media he used. He is now just as at home painting the Scottish Highlands, rural France and Venice as he is the moors and dales of Yorkshire.

He was included in the "ARTISTS OF FAME AND PROMISE" Exhibition at the Alpine Gallery, London and in 1988 one of his watercolours was presented to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales to commemorate his visit to Skipton. He has exhibited widely throughout Great Britain.

One of his latest "claims to fame" is for the nude photographs he took of the W.I. ladies for the "Alternative Calendar" which has become world famous and been made into the film "Calendar Girls" starring Julie Walters and Helen Mirren.

Chantry House Gallery holds a continuing selection of Terry's original watercolours and pastels and also a full range of his Dales and Venetian prints.
