Margaret Morris

Margaret spent her childhood in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales on the farm near Dent that her family had worked for four generations. Encouraged by teachers and influenced by her Father, an amateur water-colour artist, she began her studies at Harrogate School of Art in 1960.

She continued to draw & paint whilst raising her family of four children and it was during this period that she became interested in etching. She decided to return to art school in 1989, first to York and then to Bradford joining a BA Hons Degree Course in Art & Design. After graduating in 1997 she returned to Bradford College to continue printmaking on an MA Course graduating in November 1999.

She is drawn to the practice of printmaking, using etching, dry point and carborundum methods, which provide an exciting and unique language of marks.
