Nel Whatmore

Nel Whatmore has been an artist all her working life and normally travels the length and breadth of Britain studying the landscape and favourite coastal haunts, as well as being inspired by visits to many gorgeous well known  gardens. She has been a regular exhibitor at Chelsea Flower Show and Artist in Residence for a whole year at RHS Harlow Carr. She has also been commissioned to paint various National Collections including Michaelmas Daisies and Roses. During the past year things have been very different but this has afforded her the time to study her own garden and paint views on her walks nearer to homemade to treasure what is closer to hand.

The main inspiration behind her work which infuses both her florals, landscapes and abstracts, is her love of colour and it’s ability to evoke emotions.

She started her career with the help of the Prince’s Trust an organisation, started by The Prince of Wales, to support young people get into work and was invited to Clarence House as part of the Trusts 35th Anniversary Celebrations.
